This is because most Africans, would accept anything that has the name of God on it! The average African does not joke with spiritual issues. Most times, this has led to Africans accepting everything their religious leaders throw at them; a behavior, which according to pundits bestow on these "Men of God" excessive powers that can be abused to the detriment of their followers.

Edidem Bassey had unfettered access to all female devotees - married or not. As the Son of God, women considered it sheer privilege to be asked to grace Edidem's Bed. Husbands are reported to have gone wild with excitement whenever Edidem considered their wives for his sexual satisfaction.TO them, Edidem Bassey was God and for him to stoop as low as to sleep with their mortal wives, they were blessed and highly favoured.
