In the late 1930's, a certain man was born and named Etim Bassey. He grew up like every normal child and as such, no special attention was paid to his early days. In fact, few years to Nigeria's independence, Bassey was a well known truck pusher. However, with time, Bassey realized he had a much better calling and so he decided to give to the people what they yearned for. He declared himself the Messiah - JESUS CHRIST OF IKOT EKPENE!
Fame And Fortune.
Edidem Bassey's self promotion became the masterstroke of his financial and image revolution. In no time, he became the richest man in all of Ikot Ekpene. He built for himself the biggest house in the area in lived in absolute grandeur and elegance. His flamboyant lifestyle was legendary and his fame simply phenomenal! Edidem Bassey's robes were made of resplendent linens and he had a special throne built for him. Every year, he was carried around the streets of Ikot Ekpene on his special throne.
