I cannot categorically state why or how we became friends - Emeka and me! Circumstances brought us together... He is definitely one of those Igbo guys I would've gone to visit if he made it to the Lagoon!
Emeka and me are actually not best of friends... No! I won't give him that much credit jhoor! Uhmmm... He's just one of those guys I'm proud to call my friend! (I hate to admit that)
It was March 2012, and we were both at the live studio of a radio station. I was on duty that evening, and was about to sign off my afternoon shift. Emeka made me do something unusual... Something that would affect my life forever! We should take out time someday and talk about that... Definitely not today!
On our way home from the studio, Emeka told me a little proverb in Igbo... I would later learn the translation to mean "...God would not do for you what he has given you the capacity to do!"
Fast forward to 2015, the fruit Emeka helped me plant is still blooming, and each time I smile because of this "fruit", I cannot help but remember my Igbo brother, and of course, HIS PROVERB!
Friends, Emeka was correct! God will not do for you what you can do for yourself! As a young student at school, I was raised by a mathematics teacher. Yet still, I don't ever remember dad helping me solve the many maths problems I brought home. As a matter of fact, I hated showing him the problems because all he would do would be to teach me the topic afresh, and add more complex problems for me to solve!
God in many ways is like my dad. He gives us the ability and capacity to solve our challenges and watches to see how well we'll do!
Yes, God will do exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ever ask or imagine, yet still we must ask! We must imagine! God will not help you to ask! He won't help you imagine!
So, Ask, and you shall receive! Knock, the door shall be opened unto you! Seek, and you will find!
As long as you've not asked, the answer will be No! Until you knock, your prayers for open doors will not be answered! And until the day you seek, you will never find!
Even God can't help you on this one!
So, take that step today! Ask!
Write that proposal today, seek!
Walk up to that sister today, knock!
May the positive desires of your hearts come to fruition!
Aim, Aspire, Achieve!
